Hey, all. Well it has been a very busy 20 years. Upon graduation, I attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, Sc (Go Terriers!). I finished with a BS in Pschology and a commission in the US Army. I stayed in the Army nine years and finished as a Captain. I was stationed in Georgia (Ft. Stewart), Germany for four years (Mannheim, and K-Town); and finished my career as an instructor in Aberdeen, Md. While on active duty I did too many deployments and saw too many foreign countries. I left the military and joined Sunoco, Inc in Tulsa, Oklahoma (Training and Development Consultant). That didn't last long - I did not like the corporate world. I left Sunoco in 2003 and joined the staff at Wofford college as Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Career Services. I served at Wofford until November 2007, when I joined the United Way in Greenville County as the Vice President for Community Impact, Essentially, I work with community based organizations and provide funding and strategic collaboration for Greenville's health and human service issue. I love this work!
I have also been in the ministry for the last 13 years. I have served three different churches as Senior Pastor. I am licensed and ordained as a Baptist Minister and I also hold an exhorter's certificate from the Church of God, and am an Ordained Elder. I currently pastor a church I founded two years ago -Consuming Fire Ministries (Hebrews 12:28-29).
I will celebrate my 16th year of marraige (to the same wonderful woman) on August 14, 2009. Martetha (Vee) has been awesome and has been in here with me since we were 22 year old college grads! She is amazing and I can't wait to inntroduce you to her. I know some of you have already met her.
Darrin Jr. is a great kid also. (not an athlete like his dad), but much smarter than I will ever be. Let's see Dorman High School Academic Team, SC Junior Scholar, Duke Tips program, People to People leadership conference, being courted by schools like Yale, Duke, and of course Wofford. he will be a junior in High school next year.
We have two dogs Luke and Grace -they are great!
I'll keep in touch.
